Innkeepers Shannon & Tom offer a family-owned resort with comfortable guest rooms and cottages in a quaint, small-town atmosphere from early spring through the crisp fall season. They welcome you to Arcadia where you can find a quiet beach spot, great hiking trails, and access to Lake Michigan.
The owners live on the property and are here to make sure the accommodations provide a comfortable stay in beautiful Arcadia. Tom enjoys doing handyman projects and keeps the rooms, cottages and grounds in tip top shape. Shannon handles all of the other business activities.
Many guests have chosen Pleasant Valley Resort for their annual family vacations year after year. Loved our stay at Pleasant Valley! Friendly, helpful owners/ managers..... room was super clean, pleasant and inviting, comfy beds, good reading light, great shower, slept like a baby, loved the location. A perfect fit in every way. In Arcadia, it's the place to stay! I'll be seeing you again. - Elizabeth C.
Thank you to Shannon and Tom for a nice stay at the Pleasant Valley Resort. This 1950's motel has been upgraded to a lovely little slice of paradise in the tiny little town of Arcadia. It's minutes from Camp Arcadia, the beach and a beautiful drive on M 22 to Frankfort and other nice little towns. I thoroughly enjoyed lounging on the patio area in the evening or walking a few short blocks past charming little homes to watch the sunset. Very nice, clean and charming - Shannon was very helpful with suggestions of things to do. I would certainly recommend it to any traveler looking for an affordable stay. - Kathy H.
The three intrepid cyclists are back home in Wisconsin after an outstanding bicycle tour of the northwest Michigan coast. We saw beautiful sights and met wonderful people along the way. One of the highlights of our trip was staying at the Pleasant Valley Resort in Arcadia. We will be forever grateful for your driving us to Onekema for food when we found the restaurant closed on Mondays. That is duty above and beyond! The patio area of the resort provided an comfortable place to enjoy food and refreshing beverages. The rooms were basic but comfortable and clean. Arcadia is a pretty community, and the sunset over Lake Michigan is not to be missed. I frankly cannot think of a single way to improve the resort, other than to perhaps lower those hills a bit coming into and going out of town. Thanks for your gracious hospitality. - Mike C.
I recently stayed for four nights at Pleasant Valley Motel. My family had a very enjoyable stay. The motel is very clean and well-kept, with fresh paint and cute decor. I felt very safe in the hotel area. The new innkeepers have worked hard and take great pride in helping guests have a great experience. I felt more like I was staying at a bed and breakfast than at a regular hotel, because of the "at home" experience they provide. I would definitely stay again, for the value, safety, cleanliness and atmosphere provided by the owners. - Randi S.
Pleasant Valley is awesome! We enjoyed our stay and will plan another trip here for sure! Thank you. - Joe H.
We enjoyed our stay at Pleasant Valley. We think you are doing a great job with keeping your cottages and motel clean and decorated. Thank you for your hospitality. We will stay again and look forward to it. - Kathy B.
We had a very pleasant stay with our family and friends. The weather was very pleasant and the dry weather allowed us to enjoy each day outdoors. Our grandchildren will never forget running back and forth from the cottage to Nana and Pops for breakfast each morning in the motel and for night time hugs and kisses. We all enjoyed the beautiful beach and loved sharing it with the grandkids. Katie loved finding the fossilized stones, each day was an adventure for her. Thank you again for providing us with great accommodations the place is charming. Enjoy your fall foliage, as we will here in Virginia. - Terry L.
We thoroughly enjoyed your PV resort. You thought of everything in the blue binder! We hiked Green Pointe and loved the vistas and the private beach. It is so beautiful. We will definitely consider returning when we visit Arcadia again. Your spotless and nicely decorated room was welcomed. - Janet C.
Just a quick note to say how nice it was staying at the Pleasant Valley Resort Motel this past September. We are so glad to have spent a portion of our vacation in the Arcadia area! Living and working in Europe, where everything is so fast paced, stressful and hectic, makes us really appreciate what it means to be able to relax and unwind. We went on a lot of beautiful hikes and enjoyed so much natural beauty the your area has to offer, truly spectacular! We also met so many nice and friendly people in the Arcadia area during our trip. Although, the first two people we met were indications that we were going to have a wonderful week. These two were the Westgate's. We love cottage number 8! It was just perfect for us! Oh, and I must add, the salmon that Tom shared with us were the best we have ever eaten! I guess freshness matter. The evenings at the campfire were also truly peaceful and relaxing. I could go on and on..Guess I'll just some it all up by saying Thank You! It was a pleasure to have met you both, and look forward to visiting again! - Richard K.
If you're expecting "fancy," then this isn't for you. Pleasant Valley is a homey, comfortable place, with all you need and no pretensions to being more than friendly, welcoming and restful. Since this was just what we were seeking, we were not at all disappointed. How lovely it is to have a little cottage all to ourselves! The host was expecting us, having prepared our cottage (including turning on the heating so that we wouldn't be chilled). There was a binder with very useful information (and very funny asides - be sure to read the section on "coffee") and little notes around the house, answering all our questions before we'd even thought of them. We visited late in the season, so it was chilly, but drafts were managed by cuddling up and using the heating. The cottage and the area surrounding it are nice and quiet, which we loved. There isn't a great deal to do in Arcadia at this time of year after about 5:00pm or so, but we had come specifically to see the Harriet Quimby exhibit at the Museum, so we were plenty pleased. This is a very nice village to visit, and a comfy place to rest our heads while staying overnight. We're extremely glad we did. - silentsgirl
